William "Shot" Jeffords, 81, of Bay Valley in Pope County, passed away at 9:17 a.m. Thursday morning, March 6, 2025, at Baptist Health Paducah.Shot, as he was affectionately known to family and friends, was born Nov. 14, 1943 in Brownfield. He was the son of Charles Owen and Nellie May (Parks) Jeffords.On Aug. 2, 1980, Shot was united in marriage to Alice Hodge in Belknap. She survives.In addition to his wife, Shot is survived by his sons, Charlie (Leslee) Jeffords and William Lee "Jay" (Brenda) Jeffords; three grandsons Seth, Owen and Josh; a nephew - Teddy (Kathy) Jeffords; two nieces, Pat Reynolds and Sue Mizell; as well as a host of friends.In addition to his parents, Shot was preceded in death by his brothers, Les, Ned, and Ted (Juanita); and a sister-in-law, Rhudell Jeffords.Shot was a graduate of Pope County Community High School.On March 7, 1966, Shot enlisted in the U.S. Army and served until his honorable discharge on Feb. 27, 1968.
