Loris R. Pfaltzgraff, 80, of Tunnel Hill, Illinois, passed away peacefully on January 6, 2025, in Harrisburg, Illinois. She was born on July 5, 1944, to Francis and Cleora (Hansen) Parris. Loris earned her bachelor’s degree from Buena Vista University in Storm Lake, Iowa, and began her career as a high school math teacher in Greenfield and West Liberty, Iowa. In 1973, she and her husband, Leroy, moved to Carbondale, Illinois, where they established Pyramid Electronics, a family business. Loris served as secretary and bookkeeper from 1973 to 2004, playing an integral role in the company’s success. She also worked in the bakery of a grocery store and as a bank teller in Carbondale, always demonstrating her strong work ethic and friendly demeanor. On November 28, 1969, Loris married Darwin Leroy Pfaltzgraff near Storm Lake, Iowa.
