Noble “Toby” Barnette, age 87, of Goreville, passed away on October 27, 2024, at Memorial Hospital of Carbondale. Toby was born on July 1, 1937, in Wise, Virginia, to Audney and Pearl Barnette. Toby worked as a night watchman for Southern Illinois Stone. He had a passion for old cars and spent many hours tinkering with them. An avid collector, he cherished his collection of guns, knives, and belt buckles. Above all, Toby deeply loved his family. He is survived by his daughter, Denise Archione; the mother of his child, Marsha Haseker; his sisters, Beatrice De Santis, Anna (Emmett) Peake, grandchildren Bethany Lingle, and Jonathan Lingle; great-grandchildren, Braxton Lingle-Hurt and Connor Lingle; his special friend, Mary Jane Smoot; and bonus grandson, Caleb Palmer, along with numerous other relatives and lifelong friends.
