METROPOLIS, Ill. - Rita S. Housewright, 75, a resident of Metropolis, died at 10:26 p.m. Thursday, August 8, 2024, at her home.She was employed as a Patient Care Assistant (P.C.A.) for approximately 15 years in the Emergency Room and Intensive Care Unit at Lourdes Hospital in Paducah. She was of the Christian faith.Survivors include her husband, John Housewright of Metropolis; her children, Tamara S. Hornsby of Metropolis, Teresa L. Holly-Williams of Peoria, James T. Holly of San Antonio, Texas, and Richard D. Yates of Metropolis; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and a brother, Richard Bowman of Metropolis.Rita was preceded in death by a granddaughter, a brother, and a sister. Her parents were James and Naomi (Burklow) Bowman.A graveside service will be conducted 10 a.m. Tuesday morning, Aug. 13, at Mt. Zion Cemetery, 27 Mt. Zion Church Road, Golconda, Illinois.
